History of VNV Nation
VNV Nation is a British-Irish electronic music project formed in 1990 by Ronan Harris. The name VNV Nation stands for “Victory Not Vengeance,” which reflects the project’s underlying themes of hope, perseverance, and unity. Over the years, VNV Nation has become one of the most influential and successful acts within the electronic music genre.
Ronan Harris, the driving force behind VNV Nation, was born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1967. He developed a passion for music at a young age and began experimenting with synthesizers and electronic equipment in his teens. After moving to London in the late 1980s, Harris immersed himself in the burgeoning electronic music scene and started working on his own musical projects.
In 1990, Harris officially founded VNV Nation, initially as a solo project. About Ronan Harris
Ronan Harris, the lead singer of VNV Nation, has primarily focused on his work with the band throughout his career. However, he has also been involved in a few other projects and collaborations. Here are a couple of notable endeavors:
- Modcom: In the late 1990s, Ronan Harris collaborated with Johann Sebastian, also known as John von Ahlen, from the Australian electronic band Parralox. Together, they formed the project Modcom, which released a few tracks, including “What It Feels Like” and “Tonight.”
